i hope y'all have a safe and wonderful birthday memorial day weekend!

gettin older than dirt.

So as y'all know... MY BIRTHDAY IS IN FOUR DAYS... meaning this friday!  Fortunately, I'll be in Florida for the celebration but I read this list and thought it was appropriate for my older self.... Since I enjoyed, I thought you may too...

25 Signs You’re Getting Older

1. Your potted plants stay alive.
2. Having sex in a twin-sized bed is absurd.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4.  6:00 a.m. is when you get up, not when you go to sleep.
5. You hear your favorite song on an elevator.
6. You carry an umbrella. You watch the Weather Channel.
7.Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook up and break up.
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 7.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as “dressed up.”
10, You’re the one calling the police because those damn kids next door don’t know how to turn down the stereo.
11.  Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12.  You don’t know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13.  Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14.  You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald’s.
15.  Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16.  You no longer take naps from noon to 6:00 p.m.
17.  Dinner and a movie — the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18.  MTV News is no longer your primary source for information.
19.  You go to the drugstore for Ibuprofen and antacids — not condoms and pregnancy-test kits.
20.  A $4 bottle of wine is no longer “pretty good stuff.”
21.  You actually eat breakfast foods at breakfast time.
22.  Grocery lists are longer than macaroni & cheese, diet Pepsi & Ho-Ho’s.
23.  “I just can’t drink the way I used to” replaces “I’m never going to drink that much again.”
24.  Over 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
25.  You don’t drink at home to save money before going to a bar.

thoughts? which one made you laugh?

the gay wedding

on saturday night, my friend alyson married a man named ted.  ted's last name is gay hence
the gay wedding.
it was so beautiful and soo much fun.  i celebrated like a pro and drank enough for a small country.
here are some pictures to explain the drinking process...

jenny & moi at the beginning of the night.

here is my sister and me.  jessie was the matron of honor, and looking beautiful in her flowery blue ensemble.
shannon and i at the wedding.

me, jessie, and lauren.  lauren was also a bridesmaid.

this is us {shannon, jenny, me} outside after the wedding waiting for our ride.  it was freeezing and shannon was on an intense phone call... jenny & i were expressing our concern... oops

after the wedding, we all headed to 4th street to makers lounge.  it was so much freakin fun.  jenny and i fell in love with the deejays and danced the night away.  man, i feel bad for anyone that looked at me for more than a minute... :)

singin, dancin, lovin life.

no explanation needed.

before you go thinkin i'm a little drunky, let's go back to the beginning of the night where i'm still okay to be in public....remember?  here's a refresher!

back outside. i love this picture of us. so normal.

congrats to mrs and mr teddy gay!
the wedding was absolutely beautiful & aly was a gorrrrgeous bride!!

so far, i have no complaints of my birthday month!  derby, a wedding, florida, mothers day to celebrate my perfect mama andddd guess what!!  i just realized that last years mothers day was my VERY first post ever!
so happppy birthday to my bloggy blog too!!!!!

i hope y'all had a great weekend!  what did y'all do?!

happy day

happy happy cinco de mayo!!
i hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day and i hope you go and celebrate by drinking too many margaritas and eat wayyy too much chips and queso!

so in other news...

with the derby on the first of may, it was the PERFECT way to begin the amazing month ahead!  derby, weddings, vacay to florida, and beautiful weather.
i'm so happy.
so i'll start my list of wants. because it's never too early!
i'll take it easy on y'all and start with just one item...
this beautiful shower curtain.
found here ... it's elegant and beautiful and would look PERFECT in my all white bathroom.  they even have it in a gorgeous sea foamy color and it would be splendid to add a touch of color in my all white bathroom.  :)

i need some other ideas though because i'm secretly, and surprisingly, not very good at shopping for myself...

kentucky derby. 2010.
greatest day ever.
the day told in pictures, because even though it's monday, i'm still not used to using words...
derby recovery averages a week or so...

mi papa, mi hermana, y moi.  precious, ain't it?
the kid on the far left is totally random and mysterious.  but that's what makes derby even better!  then it goes my sis, my aunt holly, kyb, papa, my lovely cousin courtney, and my wonderful stepma karen!
my stepmom karen, pops, me and jessie.
surrounded by famous people....

here's my brother in law in his sexy derby outfit.
so the weather was less than perfect.  in fact, it was disgusting.  but that didn't stop us!
we paired our fancy, expensive outfits with rainboots and we were set!
heres my sis and me.  oh how we love our horses & churchill downs! ...& clearly mint juleps!!
this is aaron...he's my cousins fiance.  and lousy me forgot to take a picture with my cousin!  oopsies!  they just moved to cali and will be getting married next april on an AMAZING beach view cliff.  !!
believe it or not... this picture was taken on a cellular device!  wowzers!  it's beautiful.

scot, me and jess.  the mint juleps were speaking...
have you heard of the derby infield?? yah... we weren't there but we came across some crazies that went... rain = disaster infield which clearly = amazingness.
you can barely see jessie's rain boots, but that's just to give you an idea...
a little out of order here but this is before we left.  we went on a few rented school buses and had our bourbon jackets on long before entering churchill downs.  ...since afterall, the derby festivities start about two weeks before the races!
this was seriously wild... the weather was pitiful all day.  it was dreary, gross, rainy, yuck.  and two minutes before the actual derby race, the clouds parted, the sun started shining, and there was even a rainbow!  it was so gorgeous... jessie even cried! (that may have been the bourbon but something happened and it was an emotional time.....)
and here's me and yurtface?  remember my friend cat? that's her boy... and someone on the internet, there's a professional picture of me, cat, jessie, and cat's sister too!  the paps were everrrrywhere! :)

what an incredible day it was!  rain or shine, we still booze!

did you celebrate derby?!
