my dream blogger dates come true

once upon a time, there was a girl that lived in kentucky and had blonde hair.
over the course of threeish years, she became great friends with two girls
that both lived in atlanta and both had brown hair.

we shall call this first girl, ohhhh, i don't know... kentucky blonde? yes, we'll go with that.
so one day, kentucky blonde's little sister, whom we shall call "spam" moved to atlanta and slowly but surely, kentucky blonde saw all the stars aligning and before long,
this happened...

yes, kentucky blonde and these other two fine ladies, that i will randomly call choose to be happy and run with me had an incredible evening full of looking deep into each others eyes, drinking, restaurant hopping, and soaking up the pure beauty of internet dating friendships through the art of blogging.

i've been blogging for almost five years (whhhaaat!) and i will proudly acknowledge that the friendships i've created with so many other bloggers are the weirdest/most normal friendships of my entire life, regardless of the fact that we don't "see" each other whenever we want. it will never make sense to anyone that doesn't blog and quite honestly, i'd be sad if it did make sense because it shouldn't.

however, i'll also admit that if i were catfished by either one of them while i was anxiously waiting for their arrivals on that beautiful evening of two successful blind dates, my hopes and dreams would've been shattered. my heart raced a little quicker when an old man would walk within 50 yards of my table or if any teenage girl looked in my direction. i briefly imagined nev jumping out of the drum set that sat in front of me for the live band, and yes, i even envisioned my i-was-stood-up-because-i-wasnt-what-they-expected-loser-self leaving the well-lit, public area we designated as our meeting place with my tail between my legs and mascara running down my blogger-approved outfit.

on the contrary ... i can confirm that chelsea and ashley are even more beautiful (if you could even imagine!) in person than on any instagram newsfeed.

i also drank this concoction while i was in atlanta. we were in love.

who is your dream blogger date?

catlanta and blates

you know those times during life that everything just sucks (it's the only appropriate word)
and you have to keep telling yourself ...
"you have to take the good with the bad" and the whole "the bad stuff makes the sweet stuff that much sweeter"
and the internal pep talks of "there's only rainbows after the storm"
and all those other things to make yourself feel better?

{my little baby woodford celebrated his first birthday with a cupcake.}

well right now, my life is in the sweetest of sweet stuff that i have to tuck away and remember for when some rain comes back. it's not that i won the lottery or i'm sitting on glitter, it's the simple fact of perspective. here are some reasons why i'm walkin on sunshine...

{because i have friends like cat that will dress up with me in our finest furs and take advantage of photo ops like this one at churchill downs.}

these girls came in town during thanksgiving break and we all had a giant slumber party since we hadn't all be reunited since the #foxywedding in cabo.
{lindsey, nicole, moi, courtney, jenny}

because when girls get together and take pictures that describe each one to a tee,
they're instant framers which is what this is.

the next night, john and i ventured to lexington with these two -
ryan and jenny - to watch the kentucky football game...
go cats?

 which was miserable because uk is terrible but an absolute blast because of the great company and because john got to rock his brand new Dockers® pants.
let's be serious for a second ... how incredible are these UK blue pants with the uk logo and GO BIG BLUE on the inside?  Dockers® just launched this new Game Day Khakis collection and my spoiled husband got to be one of the first trendsetters.
how did john style these pants, you ask? with the alabama/auburn game on his phone, of course. (what? it's the best i could get with a man that will never be a fashion blogger...)
dang, those are some cute buns.

for the Dockers® pants, which make a PERFECT christmas gift, go to dockers.com or macys.com and check em out on facebook.com/dockers or @dockers with #gamedaykhakis.

and then... for a brief musical snack i've put together to tease you with what happened on saturday night in the grand city of atlanta, georgia...

not only did i hang with my gorgeous little sister, but this happened...

my very first blate, with the incredible chelsea and ashley (!!!!!!!!!!!)
 be still my heart. just be still.

and since nothing will top that, come back soon for my blate story.

wedding edition: cabo: foxywedding

the only thing better and more rewarding than having the honor of being a bridesmaid in a wedding is being a bridesmaid in a wedding in mexico. here's proof.
hashtag foxywedding.
1. the waves. the rocks. the views.

2. the palm trees.

3. the resort.

4. this bride

5. these girls

6. string lights. (and dance moves)

 for four days, i was basically jealous of my own life which let's be honest, isn't happening much nowadays. john decided to not chaperon this trip and to hold down the fort at home. read: giiiirls trip in mexico!

for our bridesmaids luncheon, jenny treated us all to a day on an island in cabo where we chugged sipped drinks on the glass bottom boat and watched the sea life creep below us. we did some cliff jumping, swimming, drinking, gossiping, and loving life. basically a typical day..

that's me sunbathing. haha, just kidding. they're seals.

cliff diving. is that form phenomenal or what?

she's a professional. duh.

the days we spent on the mexican beach celebrating the gorgeous couple of jenny and ryan will honestly go down as some of life's greatest memories. the whole weekend happened so fast and i'd by lying if i didn't wish on a daily basis to go back to the bottomless drinks we sipped in the infinity pool.

we spent our time going between casa dorada and hacienda beach club & resort and if you don't know what that means, just pretend i said we spent our time going between heaven and paradise.

now, i will let these wedding photos speak for themselves because honestly, they leave me speechless. have you ever seen a more beautiful bride in your entire life??

jenny and ryan danced to "you and tequila" so it was only right to take their first tequila shots as a married couple on the dance floor. do you just adore their perfection? i'm probably not going to allow my children to be friends with their children because they will be too perfect and beautiful.

did i mention the bridal party jumped in the pool, only to continue partying for the rest of the night?

i dare you to find a better group of party people. double dare.

jenny and ryan - i love you both so dearly. yaymarriage!

the last photos of the actual wedding are from the incredibly talent amy bennett photography, who is basically my life's idol.

move this

Honestly, I never knew how exhausting selling a house and moving could be.
{my new rain boots and woodford}

 I had merely hit my one year birthday when my family made our move to louisville, which clearly put me in the “more hurt than help” category.
I stayed put in that house until I was 17 years old and then we moved four houses down to where my mom and stepdad currently reside… well, and John, Woodford and I do too.
Then from 18-22, also are known as my “college days”, I took the less than glamorous route to moving which consisted of throwing my belongings into bins between hangovers and convincing my boyfriend at the time to get my things from Point A to Point B.
When I was 24, I moved from my moms house to my boyfriends house. Which became my husband and my home.
Needless to say, I’ve never really, legitimately, technically moved.

Until now. And I’m not exaggerating when I say it’ll be the death of me.  In true fashion of how my life goes… John hurt his back (again) a few weeks ago which put the moving burden 100% on myself.

If I could un-herniate his discs myself, I would.

Here are few updates and thoughts of moving:

First – stop trying to collect newspaper from random places. Just go to the Uhaul store and buy a ginormous package of packing paper for $8. It’ll change your life and wrapping glasses may even become fun. And ziplock vacuum seal bags? Hands down the greatest/coolest things ever invented.

Second – okay, here’s some real ranting for you.
In our contract, the buyer said they want to close 25-35 days after acceptance. All is fine and dandy, right?
Last week, I called our agent and said, “hey, I don’t really know how all this works (because I’m not the agent that gets paid to know this type of stuff) but according to my calculations, we are on Day 36… which again, I’m no pro, but to me, that seems like it’s out of the 25-35 day mark.” Very, very long story short: both agents completely dropped the ball on the whole “legal contract” detail so between my call and signing the contract extension, our home (that we sold in 6 hours) was technically not under contract. Is it just me, or is this unacceptable? Any thoughts on what you’d do?

Third – since we are between houses (read: we are living with my mom and stepdad until we find a new house to buy, which we’ve had zero luck so far) we decided to get rid of most of our belongings and just buy basically all new stuff in our new house since it’s my attempt to create an “adult” home with “grown up” things. Since we’re doing that, we really don’t have all that much stuff besides wedding gifts, clothes, tv’s, and everything else in the entire world with the exception of a living room table. We decided on forgoing the storage unit space and instead rented a PODS – where we load our stuff into the unit, they store it, and then deliver it when we buy a new house. Have you

Finally, my best piece of advice for moving: secretly, I don’t know if this works yet because we haven’t finished the move, but I packed all of our plates, bowls, etc. with styrofoam plates between each one to avoid breaking and so far, it’s the only decision I’ve felt confident enough to share.
{our plates, nice and protected}

Have I mentioned I hate moving?

But it makes my heart smile to be back here on the blog and I can’t tell you how thankful I am for every.single.one of y’all that reached out yesterday on our one year anniversary. Consider me blushing.
